WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Understand the wake window and latest wake time before setup.
How is the wake time estimated?
Choose a latest wake time and a window before it. Cernidia uses suitable recorded stages from a previous night to estimate a time inside that window. The app keeps the reference night's date visible.
That earlier night is a reference. Smart Wake does not detect your current sleep stage in real time. A past recording cannot establish the stage you will be in when the next alarm sounds.
What is the latest wake time for?
If readable matching stages are missing, Cernidia uses the latest wake time. The feature also includes that time as a backup. Your chosen boundary and the estimated time remain distinct.
A scheduled alert depends on the necessary system permission. Check setup in the app and in the system. Available alarm and notification behavior depends on your device and operating-system version.
What should you check during setup?
Choose a window that fits your actual commitments. Check which night supplied the reference and whether alarm access is configured. Depending on setup, the Apple Watch companion can provide additional alerts.
For time-critical commitments, check the configured alarm yourself. An estimated wake time cannot guarantee a particular sleep stage or that you will feel rested afterwards.
The report and the alarm do different jobs
The sleep report helps explain existing records. Smart Wake schedules a time within a window you define. Both relate to your sleep rhythm, while providing different kinds of information.
Cernidia does not claim a clinically demonstrated Smart Wake benefit or treatment for sleep conditions. It supports general wellness and your own everyday decisions.
A few things to know.
Is Smart Wake a live sleep-stage alarm?
No. Cernidia uses previously recorded sleep stages as a reference for an estimate. It does not detect the current sleep stage live.
What happens without suitable stage records?
Cernidia uses the configured latest wake time. Alerts still require the relevant system permissions.
